St Peter's Church (Peterskirche) in Munich. This church, first built in the 1300's, was completely leveled during the war (the altar and other relics were hussled away before things went sour for Germany). When it came time to rebuild the city balked, saying that Munich had too many Catholic churches in it's town center anyway. They had a point, we four in one square kilometer. This church was well loved by the townspeople, though, and with the help of some generour German Catholics in America the church was rebuilt in the 1950's.
