Julius with the plate of lamb we were served to celebrate the Hajj. On this Muslim holy day, all who can afford it will sacrifice a lamb to remember Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isaac) to God and God's mercy in allowing him to sacrifice a lamb instead. Half of the meat from the lamb is then given to the poor. Since we were there for the barbeque, we got to share it with them. Very tasty!
